Purple Moose Dark Side of the Moose is a deliciously dark ale with a dry biscuit flavour from the roasted barley and a fruity bitterness from Bramling Cross hops.
The Dark Side of the Moose is now very popular and ideally suited to drinkers who have a taste for darker beers.

Purple Moose Dark side of the Moose is 4.6% ABV and 500ML. It has a pretty good taste and a slightly bitter aftertaste. A generally pleasant ale. I am interested in trying more ales from Purple Moose Brewery.

A truly great product of Wales. This is a dark porter style beer which has enough burnt malt flavour to compliment the hops. Easy to drink, with a lasting dry aftertaste. Very moreish.

A perfectly reasonable dark ale, but it won’t make you want to rush out and buy more instantly. You won’t regret drinking it, but once it’s done there is nothing really there that’ll stick with you. Reminds me of how Doom Bar used to taste so it’ll please those who like darker beers, but may disappoint those who are after a traditional Porter. Like all of the purple moose beers I’ve tried so far, there are much better beers out there, but it’s far from being a bad drink.

I found this to be a decent dark bitter. Slight treacle flavour followed by strong roasted notes to finish off.

This beer although quite biscuity and nutty unfortunately doesn’t really suit my palate. It looks dark but for me doesn’t taste dark, but I’m sure it would be more acceptable for others with different taste buds.
