Brewed by 8 Sail Brewery who were established in 2010. The brewery nestles in the shadow of Heckington Windmill, Britain’s only eight sailed windmill, from which it takes it’s name.
8 Sail Rolling Stone is a pale ale brewed with new British hop varieties. Combining the old and new, wind power milling and new hops, this unique beer is truly ‘from field too flagon’.
Brewed used locally grown barley malted at Bairds in Grantham and milled at the adjacent Heckington 8 sailed windmill.
David Gouldson –
Citrus aroma with citrus and fruity flavours. Refreshing beer.
mark burman –
pale golden malt hint of biscuit, grapefruit citrus complex nice balance moreish
Matthew W –
Pours a cloudy gold, moderate sized white head, leaves a nice top and lacing.
Aroma of sweet malts and a big gooseberry fruity aroma, some minerals.
Taste starts well with the biscuit, gooseberry and sweetness coming through and then the bitterness rises with a mineral drying close, almost astringent.
Light to medium bodied, dry.
Its ok but could have been better.
