As the first beer ever brewed in Nigeria and subsequently growing to become Nigeria’s No. 1 beer brand, Star has contributed most to the developing the beer market in Nigeria than any other brand.
Star has been present throughout the history of Nigeria and Star will still be with us in the years to come.
Nicholas Dunnill –
I used to drink this while I was in Kano, Nigeria.
It tastes just as good as it did 30 years ago – shame it was out of stock when it came to replenish my supplies! I will just have to wait…..
Nick Anderson –
Lovely beer, takes me right back to Sierra Leone, where they brew their own Star with a remarkably similar taste and quality. Great stuff, would recommend.
Christopher Leno –
Golden and clear in appearance with a frothy head. Slightly gassy, but doesn’t seem to be this has a decent malt taste. After a run of drinking particularly bad lagers this came as a pleasant relief. Quite a good one and could easily have a few of these in a row.
Paul Grubb –
This is a good introduction to African beer. It’s crisp and clean with a tangy and slightly fruity aftertaste, a fusion of European appearance and African flavour. In terms of Nigerian lager I’ve also tried Gulder and I prefer Star because with Gulder you had a bit of a metallic aftertaste.
I see no reason I wouldn’t buy this again and it’s not hard to see why this is Nigeria’s most popular beer.
Phil D –
A fairly decent beer and my first African one. A fair punch to it and I will hopefully get this beer again in the future
Gareth Henry –
The best one yet! Great service even is such crazy times.
Luke Canning –
This isn´t a terrible lager but I didn’t like the after taste.
Paul Boniface –
A good interesting lager with a crisp and clean taste. Easily drunk and worth trying. I’ll be ordering more.
James K –
Thought it was a nice, drinkable lager. Worth keeping in the fridge before drinking
Ian –
Chilled this at the back of the fridge on the hottest day of the year, really did quench my thirst.
Stuart –
Refreshing at first but a very distinct aftertaste. Would may be better in smaller bottles. Must be kept chilled
Mr S –
Not a bad lager, but agree with the other reviews to say much better when cold.
Chris Meechan –
Light, sweet and malty. A fairly unremarkable lager.
Tom Rapley –
There are not many world renowned African beers, however Star from Nigeria should be better known. Excellent crisp, refreshing lager. Highly recommended.
Paul Massey –
This is an average beer,it’s a uneventful beer ,it lacks character, not really bland.
