Other Information

Schofferhofer German Wheat Beer Hefeweizen is brewed in Bavarian tradition using wheat malt. The live yeast gives bottle “conditioning” guaranteeing a refreshing fruity flavour. The yeast sediment also leads to the “cloudy” nature of the beer. Care needs to be taken when pouring. Tilt glass and poor slowly. Before pouring last quarter, roll bottle gently back and forward until sediment is dissolved.

For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Cracking name

Great sounding name and great tasting beer. Quite a light taste. Medium cloudy colour with fruity notes. Bottle conditioned as the description states

  2. Stujago

A nice example of a hefeweizen. Very light and balanced. It needed to warm a bit from being chilled to taste the flavours. Some tang to accompany the wheat beer taste.

  3. Gareth Barrett

This beer is significantly better than anything we can find on UK shelves(!) and a taste of home for my Brandenburg born wife, although as an East German this can sometimes be hard for her to admit!!

  4. Eric Akrill

This is an excellent wheat beer which pours beautifully and has a very nice, thickish head. Not as citrus as some, but that isn’t always a bad thing. Slightly reddish in colour makes it attractive to look at, but then it’s time to down it. Lovely aftertaste, less sweet than some but not acidic, which I prefer.

  5. Kevin Fuller

I don’t drink wheat beers that often but this is my go to wheat beer when I do. As it’s very pleasant to drink. I agree with Eric about it being pleasant to look at too. I love the label too and even the name!:). Stick it in a long glass and get it down you. Then come back for another 5 or 6!

  6. Steven Allen

This is my idea of a classic wheat beer. It has that elder flower and cloves start and a malty undertone. Hoppy and bitter finish but with a beautiful texture throughout. A slight dryness keeps it edgy but it remains very drinkable. Highly recommend.

  7. Paul C

This is a great wheat beer.
It keeps a smooth head and texture all the way through, not as sweet but slightly more bitter and hoppy than some.
Nicely balanced, its flavours and aftertaste benefit from being kept in a cool place rather than a fridge.
    Definitely recommend.

  8. Kristin

Nice wheat beer with a pleasant bitter/dry finish, so a bit hoppier than other beers of this type

  9. MARK BAINTON

Good wheat beer. Smooth clean crisp fruity excellent beer do recommend this

  10. Batuhan Yazar

Although it is from Frankfurt, I love this more than the Bavarian Weissbier brands! Definitely placing it over oh so common Fraziskaner, Paulaner or Erdinger! It has a softer and smoother taste and no bitterness at all!

  11. Richard Martin

Lighter than you might expect, both in colour and taste. No bitterness in aftertaste, but also slightly lacking in the sweetness that you might expect. Quite fizzy and a large head, but easy drinking once that settles slightly

  12. Paul Boniface

A good wheat beer, with a nice fruit flavour. Very smooth.

  13. Kris

One of the finest weissbiers I have tasted in a while – compares favourably to the Schneiderweisse stock

  14. John J

Very good wheat beer, drank absolute gallons of this in Frankfurt recently and on previous trips. Goes great with Bratwurst. excellent head, lots of body, nice fizz, very pleasant to sup in all weather outside. nice session wheat beer, definitely give this one a go!

  15. Matthew W

Pours a murky amber with moderate sized fluffy white head, lovely retention and lacing.
Aroma of banana, yeast, clove, sweet almost doughy malts
Taste of banana, clove, herbs, sweet malts with a caramel note.
Light to medium bodied, fine carbonation.
A little simple but tasty and sessionable.

  16. Gavin Harrison

A good session beer, but slightly anonymous. Very little aroma, good cloudiness and a decent head. Typical flavours of a wheat beer (bananas, toast, sweetness etc) but all a little bit restrained. As an introduction to the seductive qualities of a Weizen, this would be good but, like a bike with stabilisers you’ll soon want to move on to something a bit more grown-up.

  17. WF

Good but not outstanding, it does not have the same degree if body as most German wheaty ones.

  18. Mark Woodward

A reliable wheat beer always consistantly good with decent wheat beer attributes – a good session beer.
