Lauterbacher has been brewing in Bavaria since 1889 and is one of the oldest wheat beers in the region. Matured in the bottle, Lauterbacher is unfiltered as well as brewed with water from their own deep wells which along with local malts and Hallertauer hops, meaning that top quality ingredients provide the basis for the brews.
This easy drinking beer appears golden yellow in colour with a white head. It has a well-rounded flavour with a clove aroma and a fruity taste as well as the malts. It can be served with cold dishes such as salads or with fish and poultry. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, it goes well with fruity desserts or ice cream sundaes but also goes down a treat on its own. This is a great wheat beer with a unique character and is a hidden gem amongst the masses that Bavaria has to offer.

Ordered this a while ago just to try. It’s one of the best wheat beers Iv ever had. It seems to be out of stock quite often, this must mean it’s good.

A golden beer with a thick off-white head. The aroma is malty with a light hoppy note, while the flavor is sweet malty with very light notes of wheat, and a bitter end. Very un-wheaty for a wheat beer.

In many ways this is not typical of a wheat beer. The colour is more golden and less cloudy than you would expect. The beer has a sweetness but less banana-y compared to many wheat beers. All in all you would think you were drinking a Kellerbier until that last pour from the bottle which brings all the cloudiness and banana-y-ness you thought you were going to get at the start. A really enjoyable and interesting beer!

Pleasant citrus flavour, does smell of banana. Lovely wheat beer, clearer than most.

An untypical weissebier.
More clearer and golden than expected , however, a really malty aroma and an extremely tasty sweet banana flavour.
Leaves a moorish bitter aftertaste.
Really enjoyable and it would be boring if all weissebiers tasted the same.
Recommended.

A very enjoyable hefeweizen. The sweet banana flavour is at a medium level and it’s underpinned by an earthy maltiness. Not too tangy. Typical expanding head and very refreshing. An easy drinker.

Nice weissbier, with an earthy feel to it IMO. Hits all the spots it needs to, but not as good as my favourite weiss biers.
