For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

We do not have a minimum purchase amount, but delivery charges may apply.

For orders between £25.01 and £60, delivery is charged at £5.99 (3 working days) or £7.99 (next working day).  Some areas are excluded and will incur extra charges. Please see postcodes listed in our Terms and Conditions.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Mark Rhoden

Deep amber beer with a decent beige head. Malty rasted aroma, chocolate caramel, biscuits, fruity, some hay. Roasted chocolate flavor, cocoa, fruity notes, citrus, grass, some hazelnuts, metal notes.

  2. Stujago

Really liked this dunkel. Nice and malty, bordering on being a bit nutty. Very smooth and drinkable. A pleasant surprise.

  4. Gareth Roberts

I’m going to Germany after lockdown because of this

  5. Jon Brooks

Off white head, malty aroma. Soft mouth feel, malt and a slight nuttiness are the predominant flavours. Overall smooth, easy drinking.

  6. Richard Martin

Not such a big name brewer, but a nicely unique dunkel. Quite a lot of depth to the flavour and with a pleasant touch of sweetness in the aftertaste. Bit fizzy for first few minutes, but then subsides for some easy satisfaction

  9. Simon Tomlinson

Tight white head left a creamy cover on a dark brown still body.
    Caramel, smoked & tobacco aroma.

  11. David Hanson

Decent stuff, not too fizzy, quite sweet to start but nutty bitterness follows through to the end.

  12. Chris H

Dark pour. Nice level of maltiness to this but felt it just lacked a tad on the back end.

Hofbrau are another fantastic German brewery, this is a great example of a Dunkel with a nice sweet malt profile and caramel notes.

  16. Matthew W

Pours a murky dark brown with small tight off-white head, nice retention and lacing.
Malty treacle like aroma, light toasty hints, sweet, hay. Nice.
Taste is malty with toffee, caramel, light roast, light fruitiness, crisp grassy bitter bite in the finish.
Medium body and carbonation which works well here.
    Very nice.

  17. Steve Baxter

    A dark,roasty tasting beer,smooth,and refreshing,enjoy

  18. Gavin Harrison

Very enjoyable. If you’re a northern lad “of a certain age”, you’ll recall smoky pubs in Old Rotherham Town! Like a blend of dark mild and Old Peculier, it’s a lovely ruby-chestnut colour with a creamy head and a malty smell. All those dark flavours you’d expect although a little thin on the finish considering the 5%+ strength. A great session beer and a real eye opener for those who think German beer starts and finishes with “Bottle of Becks, please”.

  19. WJ

One of the best dunkels I have tasted, The nutty malty flavour is not that strong and tends more towards a lager than most dark beers.

  20. FoggyMountainMan

Outstanding beer, if you like this dark, sweet malty style this is definitely one to put in your trolley

  21. Bob H.

Absolutely stunning beer. Crisp, clean tasting and with the full flavour of good dunkel beers. In an ideal world, would be delivered with accompanying pretzels.

  22. Kris

A pleasant and enjoyable dunkel that went down well on a quiet Sunday evening.
