For some products supply can be inconsistent, whether that is at the brewery itself or how often we or its supplier imports it. For products that are out of stock, you can sign up to be notified of its return on the product page. From there, as soon as we book the stock in we send an email to you.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Stujago

If you’re a fan of malty beer, you should like this one. Nice bitter edge to it with an ample head.

  2. Doc From Aberdeen

Great Alt Beer on par with the draught equivalent as sampled many times in the Dusseldorf Old Town itself.

  3. David Gouldson

Malty with caramel and chocolate flavours. Nice Altbier.

  4. Vincent Hughes

I bought and tried this beer with the father-in-law as he enjoyed the Konigshof Alt. Frankenheim is a nice Alt beer, and in comparison we felt it had a richer and sweeter taste than some other Alts.

  5. Roger Mead

I’m a bit of a connoisseur of German Altbier as have been going to Germany since the 80tys and was introduced by my friend and Frankenheim is in my top 10 crisp and always consistent in taste.

  6. Kris

A delicious Alt – would probably put slightly below the Uerige version but still worth a tipple

  7. WJ

Chocolate coffee flavour but too malty for my liking, tastes burnt.

  8. Alexey Nekhaenko

    Nutty, thick, oily. Great taste

  9. Jens

Starts off with chocolate notes, is quite malty and has a long, slightly bitter, toasted finish. Up there with the top Alt beers.

  10. Tim Bright

A beer from the Rhineland and in particular Düsseldorf. Beautiful copper colour, smooth and sweet with fruity notes. A pleasure to drink.

  11. Gavin Harrison

A paler colour than some Alts, pours with a good sustained head. Malty aromas dominate and a slightly overly malty taste. An enjoyable beer, but that malt makes it a one-off rather than a session beer for me.

  12. Matthew W

Clear copper brown with nice consistent white top. Aroma of brown bread, nuts, caramel, malts and sugar. Taste start a nice moreish version of the aroma but there is bitter slight ashy note in the finish to give an interesting contrast. Medium bodied, light chewy but slick, nice zing to the carbonation without being overdone. This is by far the best of the 5 altbiers I have tried so far. There is a nice balance to it and its quite sessionable.

  13. Debra Strickland

This iscone of the best German altbier, found in many sports bars and where German like to experience good beer

  14. John Prideaux

A big improvement from the last time I had it. Possible the maltiest and slightly sweetish Altbier commonly available? Went down hill a couple of decades ago when they moved from Düsseldorf to Neuss and closed the most popular “Brewey tap. However it’s improved in leaps and bounds recently. Although brewed in a similar fashion to Ale, this Alt is probable the one of closest you will get to a Strong English bitter or even closer a stronger Scottish Export 80/- perhaps?
