Boltens Alt is the ancestor of our product range. It represents a classic dark beer. The colour is obtained through the special blend of fine malts.
The malt, mild brew water and a special blend of four varieties of hops is used by our brewers to create a harmonious and rounded recipe in the brew house mashed, cooked and fermented with our blend of yeast. The result is a rich, aromatic flavour with fine, dark beer, drinkable hops without being hard. Overall, an usually rich aroma character.

This beer has a lovely malty, herbal, bitter taste to it. It pours a chestnut brown and has a decent frothy head to it. Very smooth and drinkable. Quite similar to Dampfbier.
Mark Rhoden –
Color is clear amber with an off-white head and carbonation. Aroma is sweet, hay, caramel, malts some hops and herbal notes. Flavor is sweet and slightly bitter. Dry btter finish.

Doc From Aberdeen –
Great Alt Beer on par with the draught equivalent as sampled many times in the German itself. Super Efficient Service on each and every order too !. Always well packed and never short or incorrect.
David Gouldson –
Malt and caramel flavours with a malt aroma.
DSK –
This is a very nice Alt beer which is evenly balanced with regard to bitterness and malty taste. Some Alt beers come off as a bit too syrupy, but this one seems enjoyably lighter. Quite drinkable.
Lewis Redhead –
Just like a best bitter. Slips down very easily and then he alcohol hits you after you have finished the bottle . I didn’t detect any malt or caramel -maybe batches vary .
WARWICK FALCONER –
Very malty and quite refreshing for a dark beer. I didn’t notice much in the way of sweetness however with ever so slight coffee notes.
