Other Information

Ayinger is a brewery with a 130 year history, and everything it has learnt in that time is evident in each and every one of its brews and the Ayinger Brauweisse is no different. German wheat beer has always been very popular and has been known as an elixir to certain people, even better with the brewer’s yeast creating a haze in the beer.

The Ayinger Brauweisse is about 60% wheat malts and 40% barley. It is cloudy yellow in appearance, with the brewers yeast doing its job perfectly. It has a substantial sized head with a fragranced aroma of the yeast and distinct banana aroma. The first sensation is a full bodied beer with a lively yet light sparkle from the carbonation. It has an immediate lemon and vanilla taste with slight spices and malts coming through. It has honey and tart flavours in deeper notes and is balanced expertly.

It should be served in a weizen glass, with an optional slice of lemon. With regards to food it can be served with traditional German foods such as sausage, pretzels and light dishes such as salads. The Ayinger Brauweisse is a benchmark for the style.

Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Stujago

A very typical hefeweizen. Slightly tart taste with subtle sweet banana flavours. The head, like most hefeweizen seem to be, is massive and expanding.

  2. Otto The Bier Dude

The first impression is that the beer isn’t that yeast-cloudy. Plus the usual large foam head didn’t make an appearance. The smell was a typical weizen though and to the taste… It is a good one!

  3. Richard Martin

A really good weissbier that matches up to the bigger name breweries. Great colour, pour and head. Easy drinking and good taste, with a hint of sweetness at the start, but slightly bitter in the after taste.

  4. Luis Branco

An amazing light and smooth German Hefeweizen, with banana and clove aroma. Very refreshing! I’ll order it again without any doubt.

  5. stuart allan

Very smooth, and a bit different from the bigger names

  6. Ben Jones

Classic German wheat beer, full on banana and clove aroma and taste and really smooth.

  7. Pete Saunders

A light fruity hefeweizen with a decadent creamy head.

  8. Steven Robinson

Loved this wheat beer not too strong an after taste. Never had a bad ayinger beer

  9. Paul C

A very smooth and balanced Hefeweizen.
With a remendous lasting head and golden colour, it gives classic banana and clove aromas.
Slightly sweet tasting it leaves a pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
Good job I bought a few.!

  10. Kristin

Poured with a proper head. Pleasant, smooth, easy drinking. Added the slice of lemon as suggested, works well with the taste. Another good Ayinger beer

  11. Jacqueline

Pours a hazy golden amber with a three finger head and quintessential German Hefeweizen aroma. Thoroughly refreshing and a firm favourite within our household.

  12. Luke

A decent beer. I would happily drink again.

  13. Kris

I am still finding my feet with wheatbeers but this one did not disappoint – would definitely revisit

  14. MARK BAINTON

Good hazy golden colour. Pour steady to get the white foam head Flavours of banana and clove as in most Weiss biers, smooth and refreshing ideal wheat beer to start your wheat beer adventure. Recommend this.

  15. Chris Meechan

An excellent German hefeweizen with the classic banana and clove flavours. Sweet and smooth and very refreshing.

  16. John

    Great tasting unfiltered beer!
Nice yellow colour and holds a great head.
Flavour is spot on and makes a great drink in summer!

  17. Kul

A glorious cloudy yellow in appearance almost luminous. It has a fantastic brilliant white foamy head with a fragranced aroma, which comes from the yeast, slightly citrus & banana in tone.
The first mouthful is clean, fresh tasting like the aroma, lemony, fruity, its all going on. Great on the palate, with a good depth in body and texture.

One for the list, serve well chilled.

  18. Martin Derham

I enjoyed this. It had a good head, and was lively on the palate, and very clean, with good body and flavour, but better than some which can be dense it didn’t seem heavy on the stomach

  19. Peter

    a good refreshing wheat beer

  20. Liam Lewis

Very satisfying wheat beer. Went down lovely with some chilli and rice. Nice hazy yellow and notes of banana.

  21. William M

An excellent weisse. One of our favourites.

  22. Luke Manley

Very nice beer. Would buy again.

  23. Steven Nicholas

Light yellow hazy colour, fairly light body for the style, taste is strong of clove. A bit too strong if clove for my liking but you can taste the quality.

  24. Vlad

Very interesting. It feels the typical wheat taste is more subtle, refined. It has almost champagne like quality, reminds of saison, or even New England IPA (Nelson hop). Taste is pears, green apples, vanilla, a hint of cloves and banana. sSightly bitter and dry end.
