Bottles and labels can and do vary. This means that the images shown on our website may not be the same as current stock items. If the bottle or label is important please check before ordering. Please be aware that even if the label looks different, that product will be the same product if it has the same barcode. Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

If you have changed your mind for whatever reason, you can consult our returns information, or get in contact on 01553 812000.

  1. Stujago

This is my favourite dunkel that I’ve tried so far. Much more like I imagined a dunkel to be. It does have a plummy edge to it but it is predominantly malty.

  2. Richard Martin

Sweet and malty. Fine bubbles and a good head. Beautiful red/brown colour and slightly sweet aroma. Very easy drinking – belies its strength. Goes well with any meal.

  3. Adam Lister

A cracking dunkel from the Augustiner brewery. Very malty with a nice sweetness with just a touch a spice to finish it all off. Great with red meat but at the end of the day nice with anything.

  4. Luis Branco

Alongside the Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel, it is one of my favourite Dunkel beers. It’s a bit stronger, at 5.6% ABV, but it is as smooth and light as its Bavarian cousin. Dark in appearance and sweet on the palate. I wish Munich was just around the corner!

  5. Paul Bellfield

This is a fantastic beer great taste and goes down. Too smooth Would I recommend definitely

  6. Kul

Smooth on the palate, a full mouthful, hint of aromatics left as an after taste.

I will definitely buy this again, a big fan of Augustiner.

  7. Gareth Roberts

A smokey, earthy style German Beer.

  8. RJ

Absolutely lovely. Really pleasant, sweet malts. Really recommend this classic.

  9. Kristin

Very smooth beer with a pleasant spicy taste. To me it just doesn’t have the sweetness and malty complexity of some other dunkel beers

  10. Neil Ward

I first tried this in Munich and absolutely loved the draft version, this isn’t quite so good but still my favourite Dunkel style beer.

  11. Marc Ross

I liked this, and I got a lot of toffee notes from this beer. I don’t think it’s a session beer though, it’s a bit too full bodied for that.

  12. Colin A

Full on beer flavour, lovely to drink. malty and tasty.

  13. Sam Dutton

Nice, solid, full-bodied. Not as complex as some, but maybe that’s not the point :). For me, the Augustiner beers have a unique flavour — and l like it!

  14. Jonathan Horn

    Full flavored with malty taste.

  15. WJ

If you don’t think dunkels are for you then try this one. It doesn’t have any coffee notes and tends more towards a sweet malt flavour. Top notch, personally I prefer it to Augustiner helles and dark beers are not really my thing.

  16. GARY COWLAM

If you are a dark beer lover, buy this one. This is the best Dunkel Beer I have ever tasted.

  17. Luke Manley

Very nice dunkel. Would buy again.

  18. Jamie K

Augustiner don’t disappoint. Dunkel style beers were new to me up until 5 years ago. I’ve tried many breweries since, this is one of the best

  19. FoggyMountainMan

Lovely beer this, dark malty delight.
