This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a generous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoniously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour.
The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St-Feuillien Brune Reserve a typical dark chocolate appearance.
This beer creates an endless variety of sensations with a lingering taste and powerful aroma.

It is quite bitter, and seems quite ‘rough’. It tastes very strong which dominates the taste
Mark Charrington –
The colour is deep ruby a shame the fluffy head faded so quickly. Smells of red plums spice and liquorice Tastes are
raspberries and caramel then sour cherry chocolates with candy sugar. This one gets into all corners of the mouth taste wise
Bernard Hawcroft –
8.5% alcohol and liquorice and caramel flavours but not for me. Too sweet and strong and I hasten to say that I have very much enjoyed the brewery’s Biere blonde and Biere de Noel.
