Ardenne Saison is light and refreshing beer from the Brewery of Bastogne. It is refermented with a Brettanomyces yeast and brewed with Hallertau and Cascade hops.
Ardenne Saison pours a hazy orange with a small, white foam. On the nose, there are aromas of malt, yeast and peach which reverberate in the flavour alongside lemon, floral and spicy notes. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and an oily to aqueous texture, Ardenne Saison has a relatively dry and pleasant finish.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. It proved very refreshing on a hot day, with appropriate lightness. Initially on the palate I thought it might be too bitter, but this proves not to be the case, so it starts with a slight bitterness, then packs the mouth with flavour before fading to a dry and bitter finish. Possibly my only neg was that the finish was a bit short, but I’ll certainly order again. An unusual mix (to me) of herbal and fruity flavours, strange at first but ultimately enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this beer! The tasting notes cover it well and it was lovely and refreshing with a slight sourness from the brett. Would definitely drink again.
