Created in 1915 by Giuseppe Caffo, Vecchio Amaro del Capo is an Italian liqueur with 29 different botanicals and herbs. It has been carefully developed over four generations to bring a soft and aromatic taste to the table. Oranges, liquorice, camomile and, of course, juniper are a few of the ingredients in this Calabrian herb based liqueur. It provides a light bitter flavour to improve digestion and give a feeling of wellbeing to reward the person consuming the liqueur. The flavour is that of herbs, minerals, flowers and nuts and it is suggested by Calabrian tradition that this should be served at -20 degrees, although just chilled should suffice.
