A dry curacao from Pierre Ferrand, this is the creation of proprietor Alexandre Gabriel and historian David Wondrich, who have reimagined a 19th century recipe as an award winning liqueur two centuries later. The versatile spirit producer that is Pierre Ferrand have blended aged cognac with Curacao oranges to create the golden triple sec curacao, to create a wonderfully intense flavour with a complex depth to it.
It is made by blending the orange peels with vanilla, citrus and many other ingredients in brandy before re-distilling and blending with aged brandy as well as the Piere Ferrand cognac. This is then aged in oak casks to mature whilst picking up the notes for the wood. It results in a bittersweet liqueur with orange flavours, balanced excellently with the light spice and floral notes.
