Guinness West Indies Porter is made at St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin and is based on an 1801 diary entry for the first Guinness. It was first created to keep its freshness during long sea voyages around the world. To make sure that Guinness West Indies Porter kept its very best quality the brewers at Guinness used more hops and higher gravity in the porter.
With its unique taste Guinness West Indies Porter gives beer enthusiasts a different way to enjoy something that been made for many years.
This is a fantastic porter that is complex and characterful. It has a lovely ruby red colour with a frothy head. This is followed by the aroma of caramel and toffee along with chocolate notes, with the toffee and chocolate notes following into the into the flavour. The finish is smooth with a smooth, sweet mouth feel.
If you are a fan of porters this is one to try.
