Grupo Cruzcampo (Heineken España)

Around the world many may consider San Miguel to be the taste of Spain, but back on home soil it is a bottle of Cruzcampo which most Spaniards to choose to lift.

As the highest selling beer in Spain and one of the country’s top alcohol exports, Cruzcampo is regarded with national pride. It is no wonder that the company has breweries across the country to deal with the high demand.

Considered to be the largest Spanish beer maker, Cruzcampo was founded back in Seville in 1904 and takes its name from a stone cross LA Cruz del Campo which stands next to the brewery. But Cruzcampo stands out due to its logo of a friendly faced man lifting a glass of the beer which emblazons every bottle. That man is Gambrinus – a legendary and iconic

European brewing symbol.

Cruzcampo’s classic lager is a premium 4.8% pilsner mixing a light taste with balanced malt and hops. This brew makes for a floral aroma and dry finish which is perfect for summer evenings . . . and all year round.

The company makes numerous other beers and was the first Spanish brewer to make alcohol free beer. Cruzcampo Sin (actually 0.9% abv) is a popular beer in its own right, as are others in the range such as Cruzcampo Light (2.4%), Cruzcampo Shandy (0.9%), and Cruzcampo Gran Reserva (6.4%), an impressive a strong pale ale and World Beer Award winner.
