Other Information

Spaten Oktoberfestbier is an Oktoberfest lager from the Spaten-Franziskaner brewery in Munich. Spaten beer is respected throughout the brewing world with their history of brewing dating back to the 14th century. Spaten München beer is one of the six breweries that can officially brew a beer called ‘Oktoberfestbier’, as it’s one of the six original Oktoberfest breweries, based in Munich. But don’t panic, you don’t have to travel all the way to Munich to try it – you can buy Spaten Oktoberfest Beer at Beers of Europe as part of our Oktoberfest beer range.
Spaten Oktoberfestbier has an alcohol content of 5.9%, stronger than a traditional Munich Helles. Brewed in the spring, it’s slowly crafted throughout the summer so it reaches peak flavour and quality, just in time for Oktoberfest – though owing to its success, Spaten Oktoberfest is actually available in bottles year-round! Pouring a warm copper colour, Spaten Oktoberfestbier offers up aromas of caramel and earthy bread. Caramel and honey mingle on the palate, with fresh, crisp hop notes to balance the initial sweet flavours. Buy Spaten Oktoberfestbier to discover the unique, refreshing flavour of Spaten beer – an absolute must-have for any Oktoberfest celebration

Because we work from the barcode, if producers does not make us aware of a label change we often miss updates until we are contacted about it. Apologies in advance for this.

Please note that it isn’t always possible to provide a perfect looking bottle/label as this very much depends on the condition they are received in from our supplier.

We occasionally have items available in the shop that are not available to purchase online, usually because they are too fragile or large to post.

Unfortunately we do not offer gift packaging.

We currently use DHL, but we do also trial other couriers alongside from time to time.

We don’t currently ship outside the UK and Ireland but it may be something we offer in the future.

Unfortunately our carriers do not offer a time specific delivery service. We can send orders to arrive on a specific date but we would remind you that whilst 98% of deliveries arrive within the stated timeframe we cannot 100% guarantee the day. Couriers do often offer delivery windows on the day, with the option to rearrange if necessary.

If you are ordering as a gift we would ask you to take this into account when arranging delivery.

Please note that we are unable to offer weekend deliveries.

Our boxes come in 6s, 12s, and 24s. By no means are you required to order in those quantities, but it is worth bearing in mind when ordering. A full box also helps to reduce the small chance of damage, as empty compartments collapsing can be a cause of this.

Please check the tracking first, as they may provide an explanation but we welcome the opportunity to nip issues in the bud. Either call us on 01553 812000 or email our [email protected] to hear from our customer service team. Check out delivery details for more information.

  1. Stujago

This pretty standard for a German lager. Quite sweet, very smooth, clean and crisp. It is very sessionable and it’s hard to complain about it. Worth a punt.

  2. Jim

Have tried a few Oktoberfest beers now. All excellent – this included. Watch out as you won’t notice the ABV! Highly recommended

  3. Richard Martin

A very good version of the stronger brew. Spaten is always reliable and this has plenty of flavour as well as a bit of bite. Crisp to the first taste, but a little bitter at the end or if allowed to get warm

  4. Steven Allen

A very sweet beer, more than a hint of vanilla icecream and strawberry. A slight hint of malty sourness at the end. Wish I had a case of this, absolutely wonderful!

  5. Allan

Absolutely super. Strong lager, quite malty as expected with an Oktoberfest beer but very drinkable. Nice freshness to it. Best of the Oktoberfest bunch.

  6. Paul Santilli

Took me straight back to the beer tents in the Theresienwiese. The taste is quite different from the standard Munich Helles beers, more sweet and malty, but absolutely delicious.

  7. Pukka P

Smooth, mellow and clean with a lovely malty sweetness.

  8. Clive Gorman

A great German beer sadly overlooked by many. Their Oktoberfest version is sublime

  9. Amanda Vinson

Malty, but not too sweet. The malt really coats your palate.

  10. Chris Meechan

A malt forward, sweet Marzen. Excellent with Brautwurst or Sauerkraut.

  11. Kristin

Very pleasant, probably my favourite of the 5 Oktoberfest beers I have tasted so far. Good malty mouthfeel with just the right sweetness, refreshing

  12. Alan Flavelle

Spaten and Ayinger are my favourite Munich breweries and this does not disappoint. Absolutely the best of the Oktoberfest specials out there. As an other reviewer said, overlook at your peril as this is a cracker.

  13. Harry Moore

I have drank this bier vom fass in Munchen. It is excellent with a mellow after taste yet a hoppy finish. The bottle version is almost as good. recommended.

  14. David Hanson

Quite malty & a little sweet. Decent bitter finish. Not bad at all.

  15. John

Beautiful Spaten brew – savour the flavour. Highly recommended.

  16. John

Always reliable, a genuinely brilliant Oktoberfest example. Flavourful and easy to drink. Very enjoyable.

  17. Stephen Dix

This seems to be the favourite beer of Munich and its s not hard to see why. Very refreshing and at 5.9 percent this special Oktoberfest version should be enjoyed while you can..

  18. Paul C

    An excellent Oktoberfest bier.
Great balance of malty and sweet flavours with a smooth texture.
Strong, golden, touch spicy and goes down far too easily.
For me, Spaten second only to Lowenbrau this Oktoberfest year.
    Prost !!

  19. Christine Saunders

Lovely smooth beer, easy drinking would be better if we were at Oktoberfest!!

  20. John Evans

There is little more to add to the previous reviews about this excellent October fest bier. Both the October Fest and the “normal” brew are a smooth, refreshing drink which, thankfully if you , like me, enjoy your German Beers, is available to buy through Beers of Europe .

  21. Elle M

Despite being a lager pils this is a quality beer. Malty and smooth, rich yet light, great stuff

  22. Neil Ward

I enjoyed this beer thoroughly. Nice easy drinking strong lager!

  23. MARK BAINTON

a very good Pils/lager bier stronger then the normal Spaten you can get throughout the rest of the year.A sweet malty beer.

  24. Ian Singleton

Not as good as Augustiner, but still very acceptable. Delivery, as ever with Beers of Europe, within timescale.

  25. Barrie Taylor

    Lovely octoberest beer. Nice drink

  26. Alex Ginge

I am a massive fan of Spaten, but I prefer the munchner helles to this.
    Still good though.

  27. Dean Griffiths

Spaten Hell is probably my favourite Munich beer and the Oktoberfest is right up there when it comes to the festive Munich beers aswell.

  28. Kul

A wonderful copper colour, darker than the standard Spatan. Giving us a lovely caramel and earthy bready aroma. A sweet taste o
the palate, with a fresh crisp hoppy undertone, leaving a slight bitterness on the tongue.

A great beer but I prefer the original.

  29. Harry Watson

A nice Octoberfest beer, stronger than the normal beers and just an enjoyable Festival drink.

  30. hugh rogers

Very drinkable, crisp and stronger version of the ‘usual’ Spaten. A good head but probably not as creamy as those on other Marzen beers.

  31. Mick White

    A most enjoyable Octoberfest beer.
Great service from Beers of Europe.

  32. Kris

This was one of the finer festbiers I tried this Oktoberfest season – generally I have never been less than very satisfied supping a Spaten

  33. Jamie K

Great beer, great Oktoberfest beer. Clean and crisp. Nothing to complain about other than it’s not available all year

  34. CB

    Excellent Oktoberfest effort!

  35. David Wesson

Oktoberfest beers are among the best in the world. My preference is Spaten’s, but all of them are a close grouping. Enjoy, enjoy.
    DW

  36. Mark Woodward

A good Octoberfest beer – better than their standard Spaten which seems to lack a little.

  37. Otto TheBierDude

Pours clear pale straw, short head. Scent is lemony and straw. Mouthfeel is mostly light but slightly tacky with moderate carbonation. Taste is gently sweet and quite acidic with light bitterness. Flavours are lemon, boiled hops, pale malt, very very mild funk. Fun and easy drinking.

  38. Mike

Dry and well balanced, as this kind of beer should be.
