With brewing first taking place in 2011, Beavertown has quickly grown from a team of 9 to over 40. Based in Tottenham Hale, London, every aspect of the brewing process is meticulously considered and they strive to attain the highest quality in all of their beers.
Black Betty is somewhat of a contradiction. A black IPA, the inspiration of which came from the ‘Black Jacks and Fruit Salad’ sweets. Beavertown wanted a big IPA laced with undertones of slight roast and aniseed blended with the huge tropical aromas of Pacific West coast hops. The roast undertones were gained from the German Carafa malts, as well as the dark colour of this black IPA.
Pours dark amber in colour with a complex and fruity aroma and a heavy hoppiness which is balanced with roasted coffee and chocolate tones. This complexity follows through to the flavour making a highly enjoyable and well balanced black IPA.
