Ardbeg Corryvreckan is produced by the Ardbeg distillery and was designed to replace the well-known 1990 Airigh nam Beist, so in other words it had a lot to live up to but to everyone’s happiness it managed it.
The name Corryvreckan came from the famous whirlpool that situated north of Islay, which people say only the bravest souls go. Ardbeg Corryvreckan has a lot to offer, from its aroma that has hints of butter, cream, roast chicken crisps, herbal and pine, to the taste that gives you flavours of cream, spices, tingling, fresh fruit, medicinal, plasters, clementines and orange peel. Ardbeg Corryvreckan continues to give in the finish with elements that are salty, medicinal, smoked meats, peat, tarmac and chilli. The wonderful combination of both aromas and flavours makes Ardbeg Corryvreckan a fantastic drink that shouldn’t be tried by the faint-hearted.
Ardbeg Corryvreckan is an award winning whisky, including the 2010 World's Best Single Malt Whisky at the World Whisky Awards.
