Would you like a bit more Californian sunshine in your life? Well, we can’t promise that, but we can bring you all the best American wine, so you can image you’re in the most idyllic of Californian vineyards – or, if you’d prefer, one in Oregon, Washington, Michigan or any of the other great wine producing states. Beers of Europe has a huge selection of American reds, whites and rosés that are ideal to drink for whatever occasion. American wines have become as good as their established European rivals over the past few years so it’s definitely worth giving them a try!
American wine revolution
Over the last three decades or so there’s been an explosion in the amount of wine produced in the United States. In 1970 there were 440 American wine producers – now, there are more than seven thousand. There’s only one reason for this; American wines are just as delectable as the best European varieties – and more people are discovering them every day.
Not just California
California, with its amazing climate and well known vineyards, is probably the first place you’d think of when it comes to American wines. Oregon and Washington are two other states well known for their wine produce. However, there are a few hidden gems, such as rambunctious Rieslings from Michigan and New York, Bordeaux-esque Virginian wines, fruity and frisky Texan Tempranillos and lovely Nortons from the Midwest states. Don’t just go for California – the adventurous will definitely be rewarded!
Here at Beers of Europe we’ve got a huge selection of beer, wine and spirits ideal if you’re looking to spice things up and try something new. So, add something extra to your wine rack with a bottle of star-spangled red, white or rosé from our great range of American wines.
