Shepherd Neame 1698 Celebration Ale

Tasting Notes: Brewed to an original, 300 year old recipe from Percy Neame's Brewing Book, this beer commemorated the founding of one of England's few remaining regional, family breweries. This is a complex beer, reddish in colour, with a hoppy and slightly wheaty nose; but then, both delicate and strong flavours pour across your tastebuds. Strong, then light, Autumn then Spring. This is a delightful beer and one to drink on its own, to savour its nuances. A beer of which Percy Neame, should be rightly pround. Tasting Notes: An award winning, copper-coloured, full bodied premium ale, this is a hearty beer with a yeasty nose and slightly dry after taste from the surfeit of Kent hops in copper. Why is it called "Bishops finger"? Perhaps we shouldn't ask. But as the Bishop said to the actress, ... and you can taste the fruit flavours and feel the hops on the back of the tongue with this beer. A lovely beer.

Shepherd Neame Spitfire Premium

Tasting Notes: Spitfire, as a cask-conditioned ale, has been awarded the Coveted Gold Medal at the International Brewing Industry Awards. Brewed first in 1990, to commemorate the Battle of Britain, which was mainly fought and won in the skies over Kent, Spitfire - as a brand - reminds us of our legacy to that battle, to the planes and fliers who courageously swept the skies of England clean of invaders. As a beer, this doesn't spit fire, but it does give a full, malty and well-balanced 'touch down'. A delightfully, clean-drinking ale, with a hint of clear skies over Dover.
