Tasting Notes:
A delicious, well-balanced, golden bitter, brewed from Maris Otter and Crystal malts which give a lightly dry, malty palate. There is a hoppy bitterness in nose and taste from the triple mix of Fuggles, Golding and Challenger hops in the boil. This beer was a Gold Medal Winner in the International Brewery Industry Awards of 1998 - and it deserves the accolade.

Tasting Notes:
A premium dark red beer, based on the recipe used for the 150th celebration brew. Copper has a strong dry palate with an unusual ’old fasioned’ aftertaste. Copper is brewed with Maris Otter malt, flavoured with proportions of aromatic and brown malt, creating a highly distinctive character. Fuggles, challenger and Goldings whole hops are used, and the beer is both late hopped in the copper and dry hopped in the cask.

With a wholesome original gravity of 1048, this flagship brand of the brewery is quite a special brew, with a fruity palate and a slightly hazelnut aroma. From a malt blend of Maris Otter and Crystal malts, Old Hooky has a warm, reddish-brown colour and gives up a light, bitter-sweet after taste. A very moreish beer, good to drink anytime but best with a thick, rump steak.

With an original gravity of 1050, Double Stout is a refreshing beer with a burnt wheat flavour and a slightly hoppy after taste. Brewed from Maris Otter Pale Ale, Black and Brown malts with a mix of Fuggles, Golding and Challenger hops, this is not at all like standard, (large UK brewers'), stouts; it is more like a Belgian Christmas Ale in character. An interesting beer. Last brewed in 1917, the brewery rebrewed to the original recipe again in 1996. A good beer to accompany a meal of game meats, like pheasant or venison.

This is a beer to be savoured, not only in summer, but at any time. But don't make hay after more than a couple of bottles of this delightful brew.
