Tasting Notes:
A bottle-conditioned beer, initially-brewed in 1995 to celebrate Fullers' 150th Birthday, 1845 is a permanent addition to their premium bottled beer range. This is a beer of complex flavours; an initially, fruity nose soon gives way to strong malts with a bitter finish. A CAMRA Champion Bottle-Conditioned Beer Award Winner in 1998/99, this ale would convince any bright beer drinker to consider a bottle-conditioned ale for once as the sediment is hardly noticeable. Fullers say that 1845 is based on an original mid-19th century recipe; they should dig out more of their old recipes.

Deep amber in appearance, Golden Pride is full bodied, of moderate bitterness, moderately hopped and rich in malt. Full flavoured, and reminiscent of sweet orange oil, toasted grains, and bread. Rich malty aromas lead to a similarly styled palate, with an intense finish. Sweet and bitter flavours are expressed in good balance in this weighty brew.

Voted Supreme Champion at the 2000 International Beer & Cider Competition, London Pride is the flagship brand of Fullers Brewery. Its cask version holds the No.3 position in the UK's premium ale sector and London Pride has doubled its sales over the last five years. Its increasing popularity is understandable; this beer has a rich, malty flavour, countered with a balance of hops (a mix of Target, Challenger and Northdown varieties), and it leaves with a slightly fruity finish.
