Tasting Notes: In 1901, Maxim ale was introduced to the north east of England. In 1938, the beer was renamed Double Maxim. Over sixty years later this premium quality ale is still famous among discerning drinkers for its well-rounded flavour. Double Maxim is still brewed to exactly the same recipe and product specifications as it has been for over sixty years. Following extensive taste tests and trial brews, it is now brewed and packaged at Robinsons Brewery, a traditional family-owned ale brewer. All production and packaging is monitored closely by Jim Murray, the ex Vaux head brewer and he has been brewing Double Maxim since 1968!! He works closely with the team at Robinsons Brewery to ensure our precise product specification is achieved.
